Vicki Coffin, Ph.D.

Associate Professor
Department of Medical Sciences

As a faculty member within the Medical Science Department, she is the Integration lead for pharmacology medical content throughout the Phase 1 and 2 of the SOM curriculum. She also works closely with the design team for the Neuroscience and Behavior course. She is passionate about teaching and helping students to get excited about science, research and medicine.

Dr. Coffin has a Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and did a post doctorate in Physiology at Wayne State University School of Medicine and in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She has researched, patented and published over 100 papers and abstracts in drug abuse, obesity, schizophrenia and movement disorders. In addition, she has lead drug discovery teams for novel compounds in Alzheimer’s disease and Major Depression and Anxiety.
